"I really enjoy being part of the team"– Max Verstappen plans to stay at Red Bull forever

“I really enjoy being part of the team”– Max Verstappen plans to be with Red Bull for the rest of his career, as it feels like a home to him.

For the first time with Red Bull, Max Verstappen has shown so much more threat in the title race than ever. He’s now being hailed as the favourite to win the championship, while Lewis hamilton struggles with his W12.

With glory days of Red Bull back in sight, Verstappen has claimed that he wouldn’t mind staying with Red Bull for a long time– indicating till the end of his professional career.

“That’s the plan,” Verstappen told Sky Italia when asked if he is intending on staying at Red Bull forever. I really enjoy being part of the team.”

“Everyone in the team as well, you have a very good relationship with [everyone], we’re all very motivated and driven towards success and of course, we want to win. I hope we can do this for a very long time.”

If the opportunity is right, Max Verstappen might move away

However, the Dutch race driver also emphasized that it shouldn’t be considered a loyalty bond with Red Bull, and he would move away if a faster car with better opportunities would want him.

“It needs to make sense, but at the moment, I’m not really looking for that. The focus is Formula 1. I’d like to, of course, do endurance, but this is a side project; it’s not the main goal.

“And at the moment I’m very happy where I am, and that’s of course at Red Bull,” he added. Then Verstappen talked about what happened to Red Bull in 2021 that enabled them to challenge Mercedes for the title directly.

“I think we learnt a lot from our mistakes last year. We thought we had a very competitive car, but it wasn’t so competitive at the beginning of the year. And of course, something was limited, we couldn’t really change everything on the car straight away.”

“And I think we managed to change quite a lot of that for this year. You can see the step forward, which is good, but still you want to be better, it’s never good enough. We just keep on pushing to try to make it better.”
