"I think it was Russia"- Carlos Sainz reveals what made him angry in 2020

“I think it was Russia”- Carlos Sainz reveals the moment which made him extremely furious during the 2020 Formula 1 season.

Carlos Sainz had revealed that while he kept a calm and easy-going image throughout 2020, he had a moment when he was furious due to an incident.

But it was mainly on himself, as he suffered an embarrassing first-lap retirement from the race when he crashed his McLaren into the barrier at Turn 2 of his own accord.

“I think it was Russia, this year – 2020,” Sainz told Soy Motor when asked about the last time he got outraged. “I was very angry with myself, and I’m not going to deceive you.”

“I crashed into the wall by myself. Imagine how pissed off I was. I was very angry with myself, and I remember that I had trouble sleeping that night.”

However, Sainz revealed that he usually keeps his anger to himself and doesn’t take it out on others and doesn’t allow his emotions to surface.

“I don’t usually take it out on people. Maybe I’m a bit shy in that sense,” the new Ferrari driver said. “It’s hard for me to be confrontational, to get angry. Unless I have powerful reasons, I don’t jump. I try to think things through twice.”

Angry on over-usage of mobile phones

Sainz temperament often loses off-track when he discovers himself spending an excessive amount of time on the mobile phone. However, he also claimed that he is too lazy to change it.

“There are many times when I regret the amount of free time I waste on my mobile phone,” he explained. “The amount of free time we waste nowadays with our mobile phones.”

“This is something that makes me angry because it is something that I would love to change, but then you are too lazy to change it. It even makes me feel bad to talk about it.”
