During the Russian Grand Prix, a video emerged that Charles Leclerc collided with Lance Stroll before the latter got knocked out of the race.
After the race, Lance Stroll also appeared furious about the incident and claimed that Leclerc deserved a penalty for his actions.

“I’m quite surprised he didn’t get a penalty,” Stroll reflected back in the paddock after his early DNF. I gave him plenty of room.”
“I did the whole corner on the outside and he just tagged my right rear. I gave him all the room I could and it was unlucky, but he could have avoided it.”
“He didn’t have to run so wide into me. I think it’s ridiculous he didn’t get a penalty. A lot was possible today. I think I was P7 at that point. I had a great start on the good tyre, so it’s really a shame.”

On the other hand, Leclerc came out to explain his actions as he struggled through the traffic in the middle of the traffic.
“I tried to go on the inside of Lance in turn four,” said Leclerc, as quoted by Racefans.net. “Then in the middle of the corner, Perez took the apex.

“When I was behind him, I understeered quite a bit and then we made contact with Lance.” he further said.
Unlucky Stroll in risk to go down in the table
Stroll was having a great campaign this season, he got his first podium of the season in Monza by securing P3 after a series of unprecedented events.
For a while, he even boasted to be in P4 in the drivers’ championship, but after back to back DNFs in Tuscan and Sochi, he has now slipped at P8 with his teammate Sergio Perez breathing down his neck.
