"I want to smoke what they smoked after the race"– Lewis Hamilton's reaction when Toto Wolff said he can win the Hungarian GP

“I want to smoke what they smoked after the race”– Lewis Hamilton gave a hilarious reaction when Toto Wolff told him he could win.

In the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton gave one of the funniest pictures in the history of Formula 1, when he was the only one to be on the starting line when the race was set to be restarted.

However, it actually stumbled him down to the end of the grid, when he had to change his tyres, while the rest of the drivers were already changing them while Hamilton was alone on the track.

Though from there, Hamilton made an enormous recovery, and after some point, Mercedes became optimistic and said to Hamilton that he could win the race while Ocon was 25 seconds ahead.

“We can do this. Ocon is 25 seconds ahead of you”, Peter Bonnington said over the onboard radio, and soon Toto Wolff joined in and said, “Lewis, you can win this!”

But Hamilton claims that he wasn’t buying the possibility and totally believed in Esteban Ocon taking the race away. He revealed that while listening to Wolff, he instantly thought, what was Wolff smoking?

Motorsport-Total.com asked about the moment Wolff joined Hamilton on the on-board radio. “He has a big heart, Toto, but with all due respect, when I heard that, I thought to myself, ‘I want to smoke what they smoked after the race!'”

Though Ocon, who has been developed under Wolff’s supervision with Mercedes before being traded to Force India, then back as a reserve driver to Mercedes and now a starter in Alpine, defended his boss by saying Wolff believes in the Briton.

He just believes in you, man,” said Ocon. To which Hamilton responds, “You were so far ahead, I thought it was impossible to overtake you.”
