"Is It Actually a Good Life?": $55 Million Salaried Max Verstappen Questions Quality of Life F1 Gives to Its Most Well Paid People

Max Verstappen is among the richest F1 drivers on the grid. However, he currently questions whether this is the quality of life people could die to have for even a day.

During the press conference ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Verstappen talks about his future in F1. He discloses that he doesn’t know whether this is the ideal life for him, where he is being paid $55 million annually.

“I do like racing. I do like winning. I know that, of course, there is a salary and everything, and you have a good life. But is it actually a good life? I think sometimes you get to a point in your career where maybe you want to do other stuff,” said Verstappen, as per Autosport.

It’s getting too much for Max Verstappen

The Red Bull driver then adds that his current contract with Red Bull will get over in 2028. While he has previously said he can retire at 31 (the age when his contract ends), he claims that he will review his commitment to the team at that age.

But he agrees that if, at that point, it gets too much, then he’ll seek a change. Verstappen agrees that it sounds very rich coming from him, and people from the outside won’t understand him.

He even admits that if he had not been in his position, he would have felt his words weird too. But he asserts that life inside the F1 is very different. While most things are wonderful, a few elements surpass his tolerance point.

No Indycar, please!

While F1 is his current workplace, Verstappen wants to add more race series to his portfolio. He believes that he would want to appear in Endurance racing once he is done with the Apex motor series.

The 25-year-old wishes his father is healthy enough to pair with him in the races like 24 Hours Le Mans. Moreover, he also aims to create his own team and do a few things apart from races.

When asked about his opinion on IndyCar, Verstappen claims he likes the action in it and respects a few drivers. However, he wouldn’t ever ply his trade over there.
