“It’s Very Unlikely”: Sergio Perez on Red Bull’s Win Chances in Singapore If They Make a Crucial Step Wrong
Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen recently claimed that winning the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix will not be as seamless as their previous victories have been this season. Now, as per GP Blog, Sergio Perez joined the bandwagon to agree that one wrong step on their part, could end their historic winning streak when F1 returns to Singapore in two weeks’ time.
Red Bull is on a 15-race winning streak after the latest win at the recently concluded Italian Grand Prix. They have been unbeaten since the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix when George Russell of Mercedes home a surprise surprise victory.

With Red Bull’s unbeaten streak, they have already made F1 history and are adamant about continuing it. However, everything can go wrong with one misstep in Singapore as F1 heads to the Asian leg. Therefore, mistakes like Monza can prove to be very costly.
Sergio Perez on Red Bull’s chances in Singapore
Perez talked about Red Bull’s Singapore GP chances with his teammate Max Verstappen lately. Syncing with the Dutchman, he said that it is not a race, whose outcome cannot be predicted.
“I agree with Max. I think it’s going to be a weekend where basically anything can happen. And hopefully, we are able to have a very strong Saturday because if you don’t start on the front row, it’s very unlikely that you will have a shot at the victory,” said the 33-year-old.

With this, the former Racing Point driver stated that no matter what the condition is, they will be looking to repeat the result of the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix, this time around.
Can Red Bull pull off a victory at Singapore in 2023 as well?
With the level of uncertainty the Marina Bay Circuit provides during the Singapore Grand Prix, Sergio Perez stated that he will be hopeful of repeating their result from 12 months ago.
Admittedly, Perez won last year’s race in a brilliant fashion after starting the race from P2. He finished first ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. World Champion Verstappen could only muster up a P7 finish.
As things stand, the same Ferrari duo can be considered a threat to Max Verstappen and Red Bull’s winning streak. This is because the SF-23s are massively fast on street tracks. All in all, if Verstappen somehow fails to win the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, his historic run will come to an end.
