Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri Taste the “Fast and Furious” Life With Vin Diesel in Miami

The upcoming Miami GP promises to be one the most glamorous race weekends of the year, with several notable celebrities expected to be in attendance. However, the McLaren duo of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri already got a taste of the glamour, before the weekend began as Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez paid a visit.

Diesel and Rodriguez gained worldwide fame by starring in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, and F1 seems like a perfect place for them to promote its latest installment. While the two Hollywood megastars made their living driving fast cars on the movie screens, Norris and Piastri were gearing up to do the same in real life (following rules and regulations of course).

Norris took Rodriguez, who plays the character of ‘Letty’ in the Fast and Furious franchise, out for a spin around the Miami International Autodrome. Many celebrities feel scared while sitting in the passenger’s seat next to F1 stars driving a supercar flat out around circuits.

Rodriguez, however, seemed fairly happy with Norris’ driving, as she gave the 23-year-old a warm hug while leaving the car, as shown on McLaren’s Instagram page.

Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri interact with Vin Diesel

After Rodriguez, it was Diesel’s turn to interact with Norris and Piastri. The former had a look around the McLaren garage and was awed by the technology that goes into making and maintaining an F1 car.

Unlike Rodriguez though, Diesel did not get into the car with Norris or Piastri for a hot lap around the circuit, since McLaren didn’t post anything about that. Instead, he spend time talking to both drivers and shared laughs with them. His hugs, however, might’ve been a bit too tight for Norris, as McLaren’s admin wrote, “That’s a hug you have to brace for.”  on their Insta post.

Diesel is one of the most recognizable actors in the world and is one of the highest-grossing stars. The 55-year-old is once again playing the role of ‘Dominic Toretto’ in the 10th installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, named ‘Fast X’. The movie releases in the US on the 19th of May, 2023.

Vin Diesel amazed by Oscar Piastri’s helmet color

When someone walks into an F1 garage for the first time, there are an umpteenth number of things they could be amazed by. However, Diesel seemed astounded by the color choices of Piastri’s helmet. In the video posted by McLaren on their Instagram page, the Hollywood starlet asks Piastri if he chooses the color of his own helmet, and when the Aussie said yes, he lost it.

“You’re kidding me!” he exclaimed. “Nothing, it’s amazing. This isn’t fair. Come on, you can’t ask him to pick the colors too. Did you build this place?”

Of course, Piastri didn’t build the McLaren garage in Miami, and broke the news to Diesel, who was still in a state of amazement. Of course, the latter was joking with his questions to the Melbourne-born F1 rookie, but overall, it was a fun interaction between him and the McLaren stars ahead of what promises to be an exciting weekend of F1 action.
