Lando Norris is arguably one of the best drivers currently on the F1 grid as he has proved his worth time and time again by delivering some outstanding performances for McLaren over the past few seasons. While the 23-year-old is brilliant on the track, he is also quite good when it comes to simulator racing.
The McLaren driver recently posted a story on Instagram, where he boasted about his skill set. Norris explained how he can perform as strongly as his friend, Max, despite having an ‘inferior’ setup.
Lando Norris brags about his simulator skills
Norris put up a story to explain the ‘beautiful’ setup he and his friend had for their simulator. He first explained his friend Max’s setup by stating, “Beautiful, full performance simulator. Triple screen, one on top. Everything as professional as you can get”.
After this, he then explained his own simulator setup by adding, “Sofa, single screen”. Despite not having as ‘professional’ of a setup as his friend, Norris stated that he yet manages to do the same lap time as him.
“look at this. wow. beautiful. professional. boom! sofa, single screen…” 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/QyYgb3dnH0

In another video, Norris spoke about his £30,000 ($36,521) simulator racing setup and explained how the same has helped him to become better at F1. He stated that simulator racing helps drivers like him sharpen their muscle memory and strengthen their arms before they begin driving real cars.
Norris has a disastrous start to the 2023 season with McLaren
After two outstanding campaigns with McLaren in 2021 and 2022, Norris has had a disastrous start to the 2023 season. The Briton finished sixth in the Drivers’ Championship in 2021 and seventh in 2022. In both seasons he finished ahead of more experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
And when it comes to the 2023 season, Norris has even struggled to finish in the top 10. The 23-year-old finished 17th in both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia before finishing an outstanding sixth in Australia thanks to immense fortune going his way.
Since only 12 drivers managed to finish the Australian Grand Prix, Norris made the most of his opportunity by scoring eight points for his team, his only points so far this season. Since the young Briton is doing everything he can to get the best out of the car, he will now hope that McLaren can find more pace in the races to come.
