Lando Norris trialed the Las Vegas GP track on the F1 2023 game, months before he took to the street circuit for the actual race. The McLaren driver missed a couple of corners but was impressed by the fast street circuit.
F1’s owners Liberty Media have invested over $500,000,000 in the Vegas circuit. This includes a 39-acre plot of land worth $240 Million to house the F1 paddock and pitlane.
Formula 1's Las Vegas Grand Prix now has a package that costs $888,000.

The chance to watch a race under the neon lights of Sin City has gotten a lot of fans hyped up. However, it seems F1 drivers are just as much excited to race in Vegas.
Lando Norris shares his excitement about racing in Las Vegas
Lando Norris struggled with the unusual layout of the Las Vegas GP track. The McLaren driver missed a couple of apexes and went off the track once. However, he claimed that the car “felt alive” in the fast street circuit.
The driver told Sky Sports that it will be surreal to be racing there this November. He told, “I just don’t think people realize how cool it’s going to be. You are going to be racing in the streets of Vegas.”
Like everyone else, Norris too is an admirer of the city and its famous streets. So racing for the first time in the Las Vegas strip will be an overwhelming feeling for him. He added, “The fact that it’s getting closed down just for us to race is such a cool thing to think of.”
Norris admitted that he has been to Vegas a long time back. However, the Briton did not get to soak in the glitz and glamor of the city, which he will experience in the inaugural race weekend.
Norris rates driving in the Las Vegas GP track will be fun
The Las Vegas GP track has been ridiculed by fans for its unusual shape. Fans claim the track layout resembles an upside-down pig which even Lando Norris agrees with
“The layout looks odd if you look it on a piece of paper,” the driver told in an interview. However, Norris predicts the weekend will be entertaining for drivers and fans.
The Briton described the track saying, “I think it’s going to be a good qualifying track.” Norris added, “If it’s a good race track then you can look forward to the race on Sunday no matter if you are first or last. And it’s in Vegas so double whammy.”
The McLaren driver showed his enthusiasm driving around the track during his live stream. He also believes the driving on the track in the F1 23 game will be similar to their initial runs on the simulator.
As the track has never been raced on, Norris believes testing the track on the video game will “100%” help him. The game can help drivers judge breaking points and how to attack the corners.
The driver also stated that he is yet to drive around the track in McLaren’s simulator. However, as and when accurate data about the track is made available, he will get an accurate understanding of the circuit.
