When he broke Max Verstappen’s Hungarian Grand Prix P1 trophy, Lando Norris brought some attention to himself last weekend. Christian Horner himself revealed that the estimated price of the trophy was over $66,000. But at the same time, Verstappen was hardly bothered about his prized asset getting damaged and laughed it off. However, Norris claims he would have reacted differently if it was the other way around.
Coming into the Belgian Grand Prix, the McLaren driver regretted his actions. During the Thursday press conference, he told the media that he would be more careful about such things in the future.

Moreover, such apologetic action comes after Norris realizes how significant porcelain is in Hungarian culture. Therefore, he talks about how he feels about breaking a trophy that almost takes half a year to be created.
Lando Norris reveals he would be massively annoyed
During the Thursday press conference, he knew that a question about his last weekend’s antics would be surfaced. And this time, unlike last week, he had an apologetic tone.
“I had no intention of ever doing such a thing. And I know how much it means to Hungarians and part of their culture. I did apologize to Max [Verstappen]. Obviously, I made a couple of jokes about it, which maybe I shouldn’t. I feel bad. If it were my trophy, I would have been annoyed,” said Norris.
The Briton concluded that he never intended to break the trophy and would be more considerate while celebrating. And seeing McLaren’s trajectory, he will surely get multiple opportunities this year to be on the podium.
McLaren is arguably the second-fastest side in F1
In Austria, McLaren showed signs of their rise in the championship fight. And in Silverstone, it was a big revelation when Norris and Oscar Piastri finished P2 and P4, respectively.
They followed suit in Hungary with yet another podium by Norris. Lewis Hamilton claims that McLaren is surely the second-fastest team on the grid, but Norris stated the opposite. So, it would be fair to assume that both sides are at par with each other.
Nevertheless, Norris thinks McLaren would still struggle on low-speed tracks. But performance in Hungary stated the opposite. However, Norris retorted to such claims by calling it a ‘medium-pace’ track.
