Lewis Hamilton Advised To Sway Away From 'Unattractive' Ferrari's Alleged $50,000,000 Offer

Rumors of Lewis Hamilton considering a Ferrari move have taken the F1 world by storm recently. Hamilton’s contract negotiations with Mercedes aren’t going as smoothly as many expected. Multiple sources claim that Ferrari was ready to offer Hamilton a staggering $50,000,000 offer to have him join the Maranello-based stable. However, F1 journalist Peter Windsor, acknowledging the Ferrari links asked the Briton to steer clear of it.

With the seven-time world champion yet to renew his contract, sources including Daily Mail connected him to a switch to Ferrari. In fact, Charles Leclerc himself was rumored to be a part of this apparent swap deal between the two parties. Furthermore, it was also reported that John Elkann, the president of the Italian giants also had a secret meeting with the Mercedes star about the potential switch.

Nevertheless, taking Ferrari’s current condition into account, Windsor believes it will be wise for the Stevenage-born driver to stay away from them. Adding to this, he is also adamant that Ferrari can’t lure Hamilton away when they themselves are in such a mess.

Windsor unravels Hamilton, Ferrari, and Mercedes facts

Speaking about the entire ordeal during a live stream on his YouTube channel, Windsor focused on Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur and Hamilton’s connection. He speculated as to whether this relationship could be vital in tempting a move from the 38-year-old.

According to BaylaSportsF1, the Australian journalist said, “I can’t imagine Ferrari is attractive to him. Obviously, he did work with Fred Vasseur at ASM in his Formula Three days and knows him and Fred would have put out the feelers to him.”

Following this, Peter Windsor added that the former McLaren star has nowhere to go if he is in search of a championship-winning team for now. He said, “But then if he doesn’t go to Ferrari and all the chaos, where is he going to go? He’s not going to get a Red Bull seat so he might as well stay where he is.”

Lewis Hamilton should look for alternatives, believes Windsor

McLaren’s remarkable performance at the British GP two weeks ago should give Hamilton a lot of hope for the future, as per Windsor. He is of the opinion that the Brit must look at his former team’s development and ask toto Wolff why they can’t do the same.

However, Windsor knows that complaining is much more easier than actually executing these changes. McLaren were magnificent in Silverstone, with Lando Norris’ pace surprising Hamilton and Co. greatly.

In the end, it will be wise for Lewis Hamilton to wait till Hungary and take the final decision, believes the 71-year-old. This is because if McLaren can prove to be a greater threat to Red Bull, Windsor believes this will open up another chapter to Lewis Hamilton’s transfer saga.
