Lewis Hamilton regularly makes waves in the world of pop culture because of his wicked fashion sense and his high-profile friends. However, his biggest claim to fame in the world of pop culture is the fact that Hamilton dated pop star Nicole Scherzinger for almost eight years. At a point in time, it was also rumored that Hamilton wanted to tie the knot with Scherzinger but was turned down by her on three different occasions.
This particular claim was made by Ann Lee of the Metro. However, when she asked Hamilton during the 2014 Australian Grand Prix if he was getting married to Scherzinger, the British racer was very quick to shut down the speculations. Hamilton had replied very bluntly, “No, I’m not.”
However, not everyone believed Hamilton at the time. Daily Star reporter Dominik Lemanski went ahead and said that he had got to know from a friend of Hamilton’s that the Mercedes driver was lying. He reported, “Lewis is doing his best to keep the news under wraps but he is absolutely delighted. He got down on one knee and Nicole finally accepted.”
Why did Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger part ways?
Even though Scherzinger and Hamilton were the ultimate power couple during the early part of the 2010s, the duo called it quits in 2015. The couple was a media sweetheart and they were constantly under the spotlight throughout their relationship. However, their breakup was a very private and quiet one.
The main reason behind the split was the fact that Hamilton and Scherzinger belonged from two different professional worlds. The busy schedule of the pair made it very difficult for them to give each other time.
Hamilton admitted later, “It may be slightly different in that we are traveling as much as we are, and you are just away for crazy amounts of time. So that’s probably an additional weight that makes it really, really tough to hold down a good relationship“
Are Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger still friends?
As of now, it is not yet clear if the pair are in touch with each other as friends. However, the duo reunited in 2019 for a Fashion Award that was held at the Royal Albert Hall.
Hamilton also posted a comment on the Instagram account of Nicole’s sister in 2022. This comment gave fans a hint that Hamilton does miss hanging out with his ex-partner’s family. Nicole’s sister Keala had posted a picture with her husband, to which Lewis commented, “Miss you guys. Happy holidays.”
