Lewis Hamilton has recently opened up on his “dream” which is to have a race in South Africa. Speaking about this in the IWC promotion in Miami, Hamilton stated that he has been working on making the South African GP possible.
Stating that he’s been pushing for it in the background, the Stevenage-born driver revealed that the South African race will be a “real big dream” for him if F1 decides to venture into the continent.
The seven-time world champion further emphasized that he has a big fan following in the continent, and so does the sport. So all of these will make the race in South Africa an “amazing” one, the Silver Arrows ace believes.
Lewis Hamilton says he’s been pushing for a race in South Africa “in the background.”

The African continent hosted its last race back in 1993. It was held under the name of the South African Grand Prix. If things go right in the next couple of years, the Kyalami circuit will see the sport return to the continent after three decades.
Mercedes wouldn’t stop Lewis Hamilton if Ferrari calls
As per the latest development, Mercedes is believed not to come in between Ferrari and Hamilton if the call comes. According to pundit Peter Windsor, team principal Toto Wolff is unlikely to stand in between them.
Speaking about this, Windsor in his own YouTube channel revealed that the Silver Arrows aren’t a great car at the moment and if Hamilton doesn’t win races with them this year, he might call it quits.

In such a scenario, the former Williams and Ferrari team manager is of the opinion that both parties will mutually agree to part ways if the Italian team comes calling, despite snubbing reports.
Hamilton lost out his place in Forbes’ top 10 list
The seven-time world champion lost his place in Forbes’ top ten list recently. Forbes released a new list of the top ten highest-paid athletes for the year 2023 and the Mercedes star didn’t make it.
Notably, there are no F1 drivers on the list as well. Even though Max Verstappen now earns more than Lewis Hamilton after his recent success, it was still not enough for him to make it into the top ten.
Soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappe take the top three positions, while LeBron James, Canelo Alvarez, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Stephen Curry, Roger Federer, and Kevin Durant made up the rest of the list, respectively.
