Lewis Hamilton has always spoken about sustainability, even when it comes to food, and for a long time has been vegan. As a result, he started his own vegan restaurant chain called ‘Neat Burgers’, which aims to make plant-based eating more accessible to everyone.
Until recently, their geographical spread was limited to just the United Kingdom and UAE. Now, they have opened up a Neat Burgers store in New York and Hamilton is heavily promoting it on his social media.
Today we announce the launch of Neat Burger, a plant-based restaurant chain with a commitment to ethical practices and being kinder to our world. I’m so excited to be part of this company, which aims to revolutionize the way we view meat-free food. @NeatBurger_ 🌱🍔 pic.twitter.com/Ngj27avBfe

On Monday, Hamilton posted a picture of a burger from his restaurant on his Instagram account. He asked his fans in New York to drop by and try the place out.
Neat Burgers is not only Hamilton’s initiative but also Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s. They are currently estimated to be worth $70 million and with more stores expected to open in other cities, this is surely going to grow in the coming months.
Lewis Hamilton and how he adopted veganism
Back in 2017, Hamilton decided to adopt a ‘plant-based diet’. Hamilton was 33 years old when he became a vegan but admitted that he should have changed his lifestyle a long time ago. However, there were times when Hamilton admitted to missing eating meat.
In 2018, a video showed Hamilton grocery shopping and as all vegan people do, he was choosing from a selection of fresh vegetables. His shopping trolley was filled with pineapples, mushrooms, and other fruits and vegetables, and he described those as ‘healthy’ products.

However, when he approached the meat section, he described it as the ‘fun’ stuff. He then admitted to loving the “fun stuff” before snapping back to reality and acknowledging that he cannot buy them.
Lewis Hamilton’s ‘go to’ vegan food
One would think that going vegan really limits your options when it comes to choosing good food. Hamilton, however, has discovered a new-found love for a food that he hated earlier. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Hamilton revealed how he even disliked the thought of eating hummus before.

However, after turning vegan, it became one of his go-to snacks. “I used to look at hummus and I was like, ‘No way would I ever eat hummus!’” he said. “And I love it now. It’s my go-to thing every day.”
