Lewis Hamilton Reveals to George Russell His Most Memorable Fan Experience

George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are part of one of the most successful teams in Formula 1 ever. Meanwhile, Hamilton himself is currently the biggest name in the sport.

Therefore, the duo has a massive fan following across the globe. Hamilton alone would have a fanbase that most of the other drivers combined wouldn’t have at their disposal.

Thus, the two would have gone through a variety of fan experiences. Hamilton reveals to his compatriot the most memorable fan experience he had in his career.

Lewis Hamilton tells George Russell about his weird experience

In a video released by Petronas’ YouTube channel, Hamilton was asked about his career’s most memorable fan moment. The Briton reveals a weird moment with a fan from Japan who gave him some boxers.

“I have kisses on my cheeks. I’ve had hugs,” said Hamilton. “A fan gave me a pair of Japanese boxer shorts. They were so tiny and I was like ‘damn, maybe these are kids ones’ or something. So I thought it would be funny to try it on but yeah I couldn’t.”

Hamilton is never of weird fan experiences. Last year, he was spotted giving an autograph on a female fan’s cheek as they didn’t have any material to inscribe his signature.

2023 is the championship mission

Next season, Mercedes are planning to be back in contention for the title after facing several hardships across the 2022 season. They were nowhere near the title contention, which was a different sight as they had won all the titles for the previous eight years.

But last year, they had underwhelming performances against Ferrari and Red Bull. The Silver Arrows stagnated in solving their issues, and it was too late by the time they made some mileage in the season.

Even for the next season, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has claimed that they won’t be challenging their rivals at the season start, as they are yet to run their improved car in real-time. Once that succeeds, they would be aiming to contest for the title.

But that should happen within the season’s first four to five races. Otherwise, they would only be invested in slashing the lead against the table toppers.
