Formula 1 is in Miami for the first of three races this season. After the Florida race, F1 will be back in the United States for the Austin Grand Prix and then the inaugural Las Vegas race later this season.

Hamilton’s contract extension is a priority for Mercedes

As per a report published by The Guardian, the Briton’s contract extension is of utmost importance for the Silver Arrows right now. Team principal Toto Wolff has shared this ahead of the upcoming Miami GP.

In a time when the F1 world is engrossed with Charles Leclerc replacing the 38-year-old in Mercedes, Wolff wants to get the job done as soon as possible and keep the multiple world champion at Brackley for years to come.

The Austrian executive also shared that the British team is “100%” committed to keeping Hamilton in the team and providing him with a championship-winning car next year. The 49-year-old boss further believes Lewis Hamilton is still motivated to hunt for the eighth world championship.

Lewis Hamilton won’t retire before another championship, says Button

The Stevenage-born driver will not retire from the sport before he secures the much coveted eighth world title, believes Jenson Button. According to a report published by Sky Sports, Button said that Hamilton will surely be on the grid in 2024.

For someone like the seven-time world champion who won many races, suddenly stopped winning them, so it’s highly likely that he will stop here, added the 2009 F1 world champion.
