Max Verstappen Admits to Living in Constant Fear of Cats Destroying His Apartment in Monaco

In the world of F1, Max Verstappen is a ruthless competitor, who allows nothing to stand in his way as she strives to achieve greatness. Away from the track, however, the two-time world champion is as human as he can get and looks forward to traveling back to his home in Monaco, where he can spend time with his family. Well, there is another reason behind Verstappen wanting to head home as soon as race weekends are over.

Verstappen, who resides with his partner Kelly Piquet and her daughter Penelope, also owns two cats. According to Verstappen, he lives in constant fear of returning home only to find out that his cats have destroyed the apartment. In an interview as shown in a video posted by Bella on Twitter, Verstappen said-

“I just want to get home. See my cats, probably they’ve destroyed the whole apartment.”

Max Verstappen jokingly named his cats after arch-rival Lewis Hamilton

Verstappen is a huge fan of sim racing and spends a lot of his free time on his simulator. When he’s not busy with F1, the Dutchman also takes to steaming his sessions on social media platforms, and that is where fans first saw the cats in his Monaco apartment.

Back in 2021, when Verstappen was taking part in the virtual 24 Hours of Spa, driving for Team Redline, when his Bengal cats interrupted the session, Jokingly, he told his teammates over the radio that because of his cats, he was suffering a technical problem.

The names of Verstappen’s Bengal cats are actually Jimmy and Sassy as per RacingNews365, but while bantering on stream, he took a dig at his then-title rival Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. Verstappen stated that naming his cats Lewis and Toto would have been fun.

Other interrupters in Verstappen’s racing streams

Verstappen spends a lot of time on simulator, and while during prestigious tournaments he wants to be left alone, his family members can often be spotted when he’s casually streaming. One regular feature in Verstappen’s streams which warms the hearts of F1 fans is Kelly Piquet’s daughter, Penelope.

The three-year-old, who stays with Verstappen and her mom Piquet, likes to go over to Verstappen’s simulator room, and play with him. Verstappen, adorably, loves doing to same with her and clips of them spending wholesome moments together have gone viral all over social media.
