Blake Hinsey has called Max Verstappen a “Monster” for his unreal pace, the ability to nurse tires for longer periods and maintain pace. Hinsey, who worked with the Dutchman during his stint at Red Bull, stated that these qualities set him apart from the rest of the grid.
As per a recently published report by GP Fans, the former F1 engineer turned content creator revealed the outlandish ability the Dutchman posses. From having superior car control to optimum tire wear, the 25-year-old is a weapon.
Hinsey then added an example to show how good the two-time world champion is. He said whenever other drivers are asked to increase their pace by two-tenths along with checking their tire, they immediately deny it. However, this isn’t the case with Verstappen, and yes, with Sergio Perez as well as he conveyed, ‘‘They’re both monsters.’‘
The former Force India engineer also put Verstappen’s teammate Perez in the same category. The 33-year-old, who’s known as a “tire whisperer” for his surreal tire management, also deserves the accolades, Hinsey believes.
Verstappen didn’t rule out Miami GP win
Despite having a lowly P9 start on Sunday, Verstappen didn’t rule out the chance to win the Miami race. The defending champion who won the inaugural race at the venue last year, revealed this as per F1.
When asked about his recovery target after the qualification, the two-time world champion said that a podium is on the cards for sure.
“But I want to win, so this is not great. [Winning is] not impossible, but it’s not going to be easy,” conveyed Max Verstappen, whose qualification run got jeopardized by a late Charles Leclerc crash.
Will Max Verstappen lose his lead if Perez wins?
The Mexican driver is having a fantastic season with Red Bull of late. The 33-year-old, who spent over a decade in Formula 1, is currently experiencing the best time of his career in 2023, and as a result, he sparked an exciting war.
As Perez starts the race from P1 on Sunday, a win will see him make history. With a win, the Baku race winner will lead the championship for the first time in his career and overtake the defending champion.
The former Racing Point driver is currently six points behind Max Verstappen. The Dutchman leads the drivers’ championship with 93 points, followed by the Mexican race driver with 87 points.
