Charles Leclerc hopes to get back to the front after a horrible qualifying
Despite qualifying all the way back in 19th, Charles Leclerc continues to be optimistic. In his post-qualifying interview, the Monegasque explained (as quoted by Ferrari News) that he still has the possibility to get to the front in the main race. Leclerc believes that while starting 19th would undoubtedly be difficult, a good strategy could help him recover well.
As for his qualifying performance, Leclerc was extremely downbeat. The 25-year-old stated (as quoted by motorsportweek.com) that he did not have any answers for his poor performance. He stated that he will need to check the data as he felt something strange with the car.
Leclerc ended his remarks about his disastrous qualifying performance by adding, “We were just completely slow. I was not even that surprised when they told me I was out of Q1.” The 25-year-old’s remarks clearly seem to suggest that Ferrari still lack pace as compared to the frontrunners.
