Max Verstappen Reveals ‘Posh’ Service He Has to Pay for Due to His $16,000,000 Monaco Apartment

Keeping global fame aside, a massive paycheck is one of the biggest pros of being an F1 driver. Drivers spend millions of dollars on luxuries to live their lives comfortably and luxuriously as possible. However, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has made a curious choice about his living arrangements. The $210 million dollar-worth Dutchman rents a $16,000,000 apartment in Monaco instead of owning his own house. However, that does not mean that the current world champion misses out on any luxuries. During an interview with Channel 4, the Dutchman revealed how he has to pay for a “posh” concierge service every month.

Many F1 drivers, both past and present, like to live a lavish lifestyle and choose to live in the principality of Monaco. With the achingly beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea in front of their eyes, these racers live the life millions could only dream of. With a massive $55 million annual paycheck, ‘Mad Max’ is having the best time among them all.

Upon turning 18 in 2015, Verstappen moved to Monaco and has lived there ever since. However, he has never bought an apartment in Monaco, always choosing to rent his home base.

Max Verstappen has a “posh” solution for his plumbing problems

During a candid conversation with Channel 4’s Steve Jones, the two-time world champion spilled the beans on living in a $16,000,000 apartment. As the question of how he tackles the plumbing issues faced him, the Hasselt-born driver said he calls a concierge who takes care of it.

“It’s all part of the service in the blocks. So, I would have to call the concierge downstairs to report that something is broken. That’s part of the monthly rent I pay.”

As is natural, the two-time world champion has now gotten used to all the luxuries money can buy. Even if a boiler breaks, which is uncommon for Verstappen, it gives more way to annoyance on his side than an inconvenience.

Verstappen steers clear of racing during the mid-season break

Later in the interview, Verstappen faced another question about how he would like to spend his vacations. He had to choose between visiting Magaluf with his friends or visiting a private island. Verstappen responded quickly by revealing that he would love to spend his time on a private island. Going to the island gives the 25-year-old some much-needed alone time with his friends and family, where he can escape from the racing world.

The 25-year-old described an incident from the last time he went on a vacation with his friends. He headed the ball with his best friend while in the water for two hours. The best streak the duo could muster up was 34, which made the Red Bull driver feel like a dolphin. While on break, Verstappen tries to spend time with his family and friends and talk about life rather than racing.
