With Formula 1 heading to Monaco this week for the Grand Prix, Mercedes had an unlikely guest at their headquarters. Pop singer Lewis Capaldi visited the Silver Arrows on Monday at their headquarters.
The post by Mercedes instantly went viral, and even the social media admin had a witty caption to make of it. “Capaldi 🤝 Hamilton. Guys named Lewis ready for race week,” the Mercedes F1 team posted on Instagram.

Whether Capaldi would be in Mercedes’ paddock for the Monaco Grand Prix is unknown. But his sudden visit to Brackley and the IG post’s caption indicates that the singer is all set for a weekend trip to the fanciest city in Europe.
Mercedes creates a Lewis crossover before the Monaco GP
Fans absolutely loved the Hamilton and Capaldi crossover. Some of them commented under the post about how there needs to be a duet song by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and Lewis Capaldi. Another fan asked a very genuine question, ‘Will it be Lewis or Lewis driving this week?‘
Meanwhile, there were a few jokes about the two drivers having the same name. The official handle of Mercedes Benz USA even asked, “Lewis vs. Lewis dance off incoming?”

Lewis Capaldi is a very well-known Formula 1 fan. He had once made a funny comment under a picture of Niall Horan with Lewis Hamilton. He had said, ‘Found a different Lewis to hang out with, I see.‘ The Scottish singer also performed during the Formula 1 2022 season finale in Abu Dhabi.

Mercedes have struggled to make progress
The 2023 Formula 1 season has been a struggle for Mercedes. Even though they have managed to ward off the danger of the Ferraris, they have been overtaken by Aston Martin. And Red Bull seems to have pulled away even farther in front.
Mercedes has managed only one podium, a P2 for Lewis Hamilton at the Australian Grand Prix, in five races so far. They were supposed to receive a new upgrade package at Imola, which didn’t materialize after the canceled race. The upgrade package will come in Monaco, and it is to be seen if they can make much progress.
