Michael Schumacher’s Ex-Boss Claims Max Verstappen Is Destined to Become to Best F1 Driver of All Time

Max Verstappen is already a two-time world champion at the young age of 25. However, his current form and his team Red Bull’s dominance suggest that there is a lot left for him to achieve in the sport. Talking about this, Eddie Jordan, who is Michael Schumacher’s former boss, claims that Verstappen will go on to become the greatest F1 driver of all time.

Verstappen started breaking records in F1 from the very get-go, becoming the sport’s youngest-ever driver. Soon, he also became the youngest-ever race winner and was the best driver outside of Mercedes during the Silver Arrows’ period of dominance. That particular baton of dominance, however, has now passed on to Verstappen and Red Bull.

After winning the 2021 and 2022 world titles, Verstappen is currently the hot favorite to make it three in a row. He has won six races out of a possible eight so far this campaign, and his dominance has made the races very lackluster to the majority of the fanbase. Schumacher’s ex-boss Jordan seems to agree with this but also feels that it is a step in the right direction.

Max Verstappen will become the greatest F1 driver of all time

Eddie Jordan was Michael Schumacher‘s boss when he made his F1 debut for the former’s team in 1991. His stay in Jordan was brief, but it kickstarted his path to greatness, as he went on to win seven world championships- two with Benetton and five with Ferrari. During his Ferrari stint, Schumacher won five consecutive titles, which was a dominant era of its own. Now, Jordan sees the same thing happening with Verstappen and predicts even better things for him.

“Max Verstappen will eventually become the best driver of all time,” said Jordan as quoted by Sportal.es. “I have to say that I have not liked the last two races, I have been bored as hell. Everything is getting boring, more than in Schumacher’s time”

The fact that Verstappen is boring fans by winning every single race, is a clear indicator that he will repeat what Schumacher and even Hamilton did, based on what Jordan said.

Verstappen is the runaway leader in the world championship standings

Currently, Verstappen is the runaway leader in the 2023 world championship standings. The 25-year-old is having his best season with Red Bull so far and looks unstoppable at the moment.

Despite being on equal machinery, his teammate Sergio Perez seems to be very far behind, something that is playing to Verstappen’s advantage since there isn’t any other car that can match the RB19’s pace. Max Verstappen is P1 in the standings. with 195 points to his name, which is 69 more than Perez’s haul.

The 2023 F1 season continues in a week’s time, when Verstappen and Red Bull start gearing up for their home race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria.
