Mick Schumacher suffered an acrimonious exit from his former team Haas. Towards the end of his 2nd season with the American team, his relations with team principal Guenther Steiner fell off considerably.
The driver has distanced himself from his former boss’s antics with his new role with Mercedes. However, seems like junior Schumacher is still treasuring some memories of Steiner.
The sharp eyes of F1 fans spotted a familiar object in the background. Right next to his poolside lies a gift that he and his former team boss Guenther Steiner had posed next to in 2020.
Mick Schumacher spotted with Guenther Steiner’s gift
Recently, Mick Schumacher posted a reel of him chilling at his home on his Instagram. The driver was spotted taking a plunge in his pool with the caption, “Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. It’s colder than it looks!! Feels like Sweden all over again.”
F1 fans noticed the peculiar sauna pod in the background, which became famous because of memes. A Twitter user, ‘fastpitstop,’ noticed the object and wrote, “Is that what I think it is?”

Back in 2020, Schumacher and Steiner were promoting products of their sponsor Aldi. The duo’s picture posing next to everyday items had become a popular meme that year. Especially the picture of both of them standing next to the cylindrical sauna pod worth $2,379.
The pictures became popular after they were featured in Netflix’s ‘Drive To Survive’. Steiner himself doesn’t recall why he agreed to the bizarre photoshoot. However, the memes gave F1 fans a good laugh.
Steiner bashes Schumacher for failed Haas stint
Although Mick Schumacher has been casually rocking Haas memorabilia, he would want to move past the rocky phase of his career. Especially after Guenther Steiner’s fierce comments against him in the Season 5 of Netflix’s ‘Drive To Survive’
The team boss lashed at the youngster for his poor performances and constant crashes. Steiner blamed the driver for causing $2 Million worth of damage to Haas’s cars.
After his crash in the 2022 Monaco GP, team owner Gene Haas called claimed the driver was a “dead man walking.” Steiner responded, “If he doesn’t pull up his trousers soon, he will be.”
Steiner was critical of the youngster’s lack of points. He said in an episode “One of the main reasons for this is that we keep on forking wrecking them, or should I say one driver does. The driver who hasn’t scored any points yet and who is one of only two left on the grid right now.”
The driver’s uncle, Ralf Schumacher, had a lengthy beef with his former boss. Ralf blamed Steiner for demotivating his driver and argued the team boss’s toxic work culture is to be blamed for his nephew’s misfortunes.
Mick was replaced by Haas with fellow German driver, Nico Hulkenberg for the 2023 season. The youngster has distanced himself from the drama and is now working with Mercedes as their reserve driver for the season.
