Lewis Hamilton’s long-time friend Neymar Jr has decided to go with the safest route possible. The Soccer star, who’s a renowned friend of the seven-time world champion, decided to go the Max Verstappen way in Monaco.
Neymar arrived at the Monaco Paddock ahead of the much anticipated Principality race. The Paris St. Germain forward was seen with his partner Bruna Biancardi and was later spotted in the Red Bull garage.

Furthermore, the Brazilian soccer star was also seen sharing moments with the Red Bull crew as he arrived at the Red Bull energy station. Neymar Jr. was accompanied by ‘Spiderman’ Tom Holland.
Monaco, known for its high celebrity involvement in the paddock, once saw Cristiano Ronaldo in the Mercedes garage. However, this time, his former rival from Barcelona decided to go the defending champions’ way.
Neymar picks Verstappen over Hamilton
As the Brazilian arrived at the paddock, he could not evade the media, where he eventually had to answer the tough question.
When asked about the team or driver he was rooting for in Monaco, the former Barcelona forward had a weird answer. An answer that would look absurd to any F1 fan.

Speaking on this, he said as per deni on Twitter, “I love F1 and above all I love [Lewis] Hamilton, who is a great friend of mine.” But then, he revealed the stunner, as he added, “I will support Red Bull and root for my friend.”
Neymar and Hamilton’s Brotherhood
The Brazilian soccer icon and the F1 star have been friends for many years now. With Hamilton having Brazilian citizenship now, he is also a compatriot of the Champions League winner.
As the Silver Arrows ace became a fellow citizen of his long-time inspiration Ayrton Senna, he revealed in the VTEX day event last year as per Sky Sports, “Neymar invites me every year.”
The brotherhood between the duo dates back to the 2016 Copa America Centenario when Neymar met the then-three-time world champion. From here on, the pair met with each other on multiple occasions.
From visits to the NBA matches together, to Hamilton being present to witness Neymar’s Champions League comeback against his current team PSG in Barcelona colors, and the 31-year-old’s visit to Mercedes Paddock in 2019, they have always shared an amicable relationship.
