Patrick Mahomes, Lewis Hamilton and Cody Bellinger Took ‘Drake Curse’ Anti-Venom to Achieve Major Career Milestones

A lot of phenomena play into the world of sports. Game 6 Klay in the NBA, the Super Bowl Curse in the NFL, Charles Leclerc’s Monaco curse in F1. All these bizarre superstitions plague the world of sports- some created by fans, while others are weird patterns of winds or losses that are too loud to ignore. Apparently, Patrick Mahomes, Lewis Hamilton, and Cody Bellinger found a blessing in all this madness.

A recent “curse” to befall the sports world is the Drake curse. The Canadian rapper is an avid gambler, usually betting large amounts on major sporting events. However, more often than not, the team or player the bets are placed on tends to fail miserably.

Many of the greats have fallen prey to this phenomenon. Haunting the sports world, UFC fighters usually bear the brunt of bad luck. However, F1 driver Charles Leclerc, the Miami Dolphins, and the 76ers- franchises and athletes alive have fallen to Drizzy.

However, there may be a saving grace, as the Jonas Brothers claim themselves to be the antidote to the Drake plague.

Patrick Mahomes, Cody Bellinger & Lewis Hamilton – the holy trinity

Nick Jonas himself started this theory, claiming that the events don’t get enough credit. Explaining his theory he started off with where it all began. “We have to back things up to September 22nd, 2019…”

The Jonas Brothers had a stop in Kansas City for their tour, where they met none other than Kansas City’s hero, Patrick Mahomes. “Cut to a few months later, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV.”

In his first Super Bowl appearance, the Chiefs QB led his team to victory against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes led a comeback to beat their rivals 31-20.

Adding to his case, the Jonas brother went on. “December 10th, Arizona.” The next beneficiary of the Jonas blessing was MLB star, Cody Bellinger. The former Dodgers MVP won his first world series that year, just months after meeting the Jonas brothers at a concert.

And the final prong, Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton had attended the Jonas Brothers concert in Paris back in 2020, months before a major career milestone. As Nick explained, “Just last week, he won his 92nd Grand Prix. The most of all time.”

Completing his hypothesis, Nick puts out a public message to all the ambitious sportspeople. There is one secret to success: Jonas Brothers concerts. “To all you athletes out there who want to win championships, Grand Prix, and everything in between, listen up. The key to success? Come to a Jonas Brothers show.”

The pop star goes so far as to call it the “reverse of the Drake curse;” naming it the “Jonas Blessing” instead. “Just remember it’s not about how hard you practice, how naturally gifted you are…” It’s about the Jonas Brothers songs. Wrapping up, he leaves a final message to the wise. “Congratulations to all you Jonas-loving athletes out there who were smart enough to come to a show. You deserve those championships.”

Maybe Hamilton can consider checking in on his boy band friends as he faces a miserable season this year. Will the blessing rub off on him?
