"Question of another couple of races"– Andreas Seidl predicts when will Daniel Ricciardo be comfortable in McLaren

“Question of another couple of races”– Andreas Seidl predicts that Daniel Ricciardo will be a success for McLaren after a couple of races.

Daniel Ricciardo’s season hasn’t started on an impactful note, as he has failed to crack into the top 5 in the last two races, and things don’t look bright for the Portuguese Grand Prix too.

The Australian faced a Q1 elimination while this article was under publishing, and on the contrary, his young teammate Lando Norris secured P2 in the same round.

A terrible outcome for McLaren, but Ricciardo doesn’t have to worry about anything, as McLaren is ready to be accommodative of his initial failures, as claimed by Andreas Seidl.

“I think he made it clear that he wants to be pretty comfortable with our car as quickly as possible,” said Seidl. “Of course, we want the same.We worked together intensively on this on this topic, with Daniel.”

“With the experience Daniel is having, with the experience we’re having within the team. I think it will not take long any more, it’s probably a question of another couple of races, but then I’m very confident that we will not talk about this subject anymore.”

Daniel Ricciardo is still delivering.

Keeping Portugal’s qualification an exception, Ricciardo has somehow still performed better, and even tomorrow’s race can prove to be different for him.

“The good thing is for me, when I look at the race in Imola, is that with the experience Daniel had, he drove the car in a way that he felt comfortable with and scored a very important P6 for us as a team for himself.”

“Because Imola was a race where it was quite easy to go off and destroy your car or destroy the race by trying to go into a space where it was probably not that comfortable as a driver. We saw many drivers going off and crashing.”

“So I’m very happy with what Daniel has shown there and simply looking forward to extract more and more out of him over the next couple of races and then subject closed.”
