Max Verstappen is one of the biggest names in Formula 1 today and is arguably the most in-form driver. He won two back-to-back World Championships in 2021 and 2022 and has already surpassed the career of the legendary Fernando Alonso.
Other than being one of the best drivers in the sport, Verstappen is also one of the highest-paid drivers. His current contract with Red Bull runs until the 2028 season, and guarantees a $50 million paycheck annually, without bonuses. Off the track, Verstappen is not known for spending a huge amount of money on extravagant things but back in 2021, the Dutchman splurged on a super luxury yacht.
Max Verstappen has purchased a 120-ft yacht named “Bagheera” for almost $6 million.

In 2021, Verstappen was earning $25 million a year from his Red Bull contract. Out of that, he spent $6 million on a 120-ft yacht that was named ‘Bagheera’. The yacht has three floors and can accommodate nine people. It also has an infinity jacuzzi, and the weekly rent for Bagheera is more than $100,000!

Max Verstappen calls Virtual 24 hours of Le Mans ‘a clown show’
Verstappen is one of the best drivers in F1, but he loves racing even off it. The 25-year-old is an avid sim racer and has taken part in several notable tournaments over the last few years, including the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The virtual version of this prestigious race first started in 2020 to cover up for the actual race which got canceled due to the Covid 19 pandemic. However, it ended up becoming a huge hit and several big names in the racing world joined in on it. 2022 was Verstappen’s third appearance in this event, and probably his last.
He was driving for Team Redline and was leading the Championship. However, the server crashed which meant he had to rejoin at the back of the grid. This frustrated the Red Bull ace, and made him take the decision of retiring.

“They call it ‘amazingly bad luck’, well, this is just incompetence,” Verstappen said. “You cannot call this an event, a clown show. That’s why it’s better to retire the car, because driving around in P15 for six hours makes no sense for everyone.”
After the race, Verstappen added that this was the last time he won’t take part in the race ever again.
