"Roscoe dropped a big tu*d in front of my door"- Valtteri Bottas reveals how Lewis Hamilton's dog used his front door as bathroom

Valtteri Bottas spent five seasons at Mercedes and had Lewis Hamilton as his teammate for the entirety of his stint. He won 10 races with the Silver Arrows and played a crucial role in helping them win five Constructors’ Championships. Off the track, he shared a good relationship with Hamilton and when the time came for him to leave, the latter labeled him as the ‘best teammate ever’.

Another star of the Mercedes paddock over the years has been Hamilton’s dog, Roscoe. He accompanies the 7-time World Champion to plenty of races in a season and is often spotted roaming around the garage and paddock. Bottas, however, got to know about Roscoe’s presence in a very different way.

As teammates, Hamilton and Bottas had their motorhomes very close to each other during a race weekend. Unfortunately for Bottas, it meant that Roscoe would travel over to his home, and use the front door as a toilet.

Roscoe could smell the food that Valtteri Bottas was cooking

At the Spanish Grand Prix weekend in Barcelona last year, a reporter asked Bottas and Hamilton about their life in the Mercedes motorhome. Bottas went on to say that they had been neighbors for a very long time, after which he narrated the Roscoe incident.

“Rosco dropped like a big turd in front of my door,” Bottas revealed. “I was doing some BBQ in the evening and Roscoe was keen, you know. He could smell the food. But I never gave anything to him, don’t worry.”

Bottas and Hamilton are good friends away from the track, so Finn must be used to having Roscoe around him. He did not seem too annoyed about Roscoe’s bathroom incident while talking about it.

Bottas and Hamilton went separate ways after 2021 season

2022 was a very different and difficult year for Hamilton and Mercedes. After eight years of dominance, Red Bull and Ferrari finally overtook them in terms of performance and the Brackley-based outfit won just a single race that year.

Bottas too, had left the team at the start of the season to join Alfa Romeo and had a quiet, but consistent season with the Hinwil squad. Hamilton will be hoping for a better 2023 season, as this year, he had the first winless campaign of his long and illustrious career.
