Sebastian Vettel to Racing Point: Szafnauer confirms whether Vettel will race for Aston Martin in 2021
Sebastian Vettel to Racing Point: Szafnauer confirms whether Vettel will join the newly renamed team in 2021; he is determined to leave Ferarri.
Otmar Szafnauer has spoken on the rumour of Sebastian Vettel joining Racing Point, which will later be renamed as Aston Martin in 2021. With Vettel set to leave Ferrari his new destination is still unknown.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Styrian Grand Prix, Szafnauer firmly ruled out a move for Vettel. It is flattering that everyone thinks a four-time world champion should come to our team, but maybe that’s because the car is a bit quicker now,” he said.
“But we have long contracts with both of our drivers, so it would only be logical that we don’t have space,” said Szafnauer. Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll bring in huge wealth to the team, so it is unlikely that Vettel might be able to dethrone any of them.

Sebastian Vettel’s uncertain future
On Thursday Vettel stressed he would take time before making a final decision about his future and also spoke about Racing Point’s prospects for the 2020 season.
“I think Racing Point made a very strong impression, and are certainly in a good place for this year, I know part of the team, I know some members of the team quite well from my past and for a long time,” Vettel explained
“It’s obviously a good opportunity for them this year to have a good car to fight with and try and improve from there.” he further said. Vettel’s rumours to Renault has finally ended with Fernando Alonso’s arrival to the French outfit next season.
On the other hand, the reports signal that Valtteri Bottas would be staying for another year at Mercedes, making it tougher for Vettel to apply his trade over there.
