“Sebastian Vettel was enticed to come to the team because of Mercedes” – Eddie Jordan suggests Mercedes excited for German star in Aston Martin.
Eddie Jordan suggested the high degree of easiness with which the signing of Sebastian Vettel was possible. The four-time world champion is eager to drive a faster Mercedes-powered horse rather than the prancing stallion of Ferrari.

“The team [Aston Martin] have chosen Vettel because of the knowledge he has, as a four-time World Champion.”
“I can speak from experience. Hill coming to me wasn’t necessarily the quickest driver in the world but he was hugely knowledgeable, hugely talented and he had an ability to impart information and knowledge to us, to be able to build a far better car. I do believe that’s where Vettel will be really strong. And I think the team will be a lot stronger as a result.”
Sebastian Vettel to drive Mercedes for the first time
Mercedes is in a blessed situation where its reputation precedes it. This booming engine manufacturer has been the consecutive recipient of the manufacturers’ title for the past 7 years. On the other hand, Ferrari has been in dire straits over a similar period. Considering Vettel won four titles with Red Bull, and couldn’t win any with Ferrari, the switch to a Mercedes engine is just what this champion driver needs to resurrect his career.
“There’s no doubt Vettel was enticed to come to the team because of Mercedes. It’s not a Mercedes full team but it’s a huge involvement of Mercedes in this team and they will have wanted to see Vettel being part of it, that’s for sure.”
