Sergio Perez stepping down from Racing Point with utmost glory

Sergio Perez stepping down from Racing Point with utmost glory, keeping up his honour while he hustles for his first Grand Prix win.

Sergio Perez after serving Formula 1 for several years, never managed to have a Grand Prix win, and now after a series of dramatic moments, the Mexican driver bagged his first triumph.

Honestly, he is too good to not have a win throughout his career, and while he bows out from the sport (we are not sure yet), he has accomplished the dream he always had thought off.

Indeed it was a dream come true for Perez who himself during the post-race interview couldn’t fathom his achievement and was grasping the moment while it existed.

“I hope I’m not dreaming because I’ve been dreaming of this moment for 10 years,” says Sergio Perez. “Incredible. After the first lap, the race was gone. But it was all about not giving up, recovering. This season, the luck hasn’t been with us but I think today we won on merit.”

Perez’s achievement was partially based on luck, no doubt, but mostly it was his calibre which made it come true, as George Russell’s downfall in the order did benefit him, but it was all his strategy that worked for him even after the initial blunder.

One of the most amazing comebacks in the history of F1 by Sergio Perez

Perez made an impressive comeback after he collided his car with Charles Leclerc, which forced both Leclerc and Max Verstappen out of the race.

However, Perez escaped but ended up last in the table, though after the yellow flag, he made an absolutely breathtaking recovery and soon came into the contention of winning a podium.

Bet, everyone would have laughed if someone had said 20 laps prior to the chequered flag,’that Checo will win the race’, however, F1 works in funny ways, and there you see it, a man from Mexico living up the dream, finally.
