"Their last chance or their first chance and last chance to win a championship"– Former World Champion on Red Bull's 2021 contention

“Their last chance or their first chance and last chance to win a championship”– Jenson Button speaks on Max Verstappen’s future.

Red Bull since 2013, looks the strongest to win the Formula 1 title, as three consecutive wins bring them a significant lead against the current world champions– Mercedes.

But Jenson Button thinks if Red Bull fails this year, then it would be a probable end to the Max Verstappen and Red Bull alliance, as one can’t predict how well they turn out in post-Honda F1 competition.

“You know, for Max and Red Bull, this might be their last chance or their first chance and last chance to win a championship together,” Button told the Express. “Who knows what’s going to happen when they take over the Honda Power Units.”

At its current position, Mercedes can still recover and snatch the title from Red Bull, which would be a huge setback for the Milton-Keynes-based team’s years of efforts.

Lewis Hamilton can still win

After a comprehensive win in France, Verstappen managed to gain a substantial amount of points over Lewis Hamilton, but the two races in Austria can change the course of the winds, and 16 more races in the season are still left.

“Now it’s at the point where it doesn’t matter who wins, you know, it’s such a cool championship that they’re fighting against each other,” Button explained.

“If Lewis wins an eight title, that’s fantastic, and he thoroughly deserves it. But, you know, Max gets one over on him. Wow. An amazing achievement going into this new era of F1.”

It has been noted that both teams are closely at par, and with every new circuit, the odds of winning change, but this year Mercedes had made several blunders that have been exploited by Red Bull, be it Monaco, Azerbaijan, or France.
