"There is probably no one I would want to beat more than Carlos [Sainz]"– Lando Norris

“There is probably no one I would want to beat more than Carlos [Sainz]”– Lando Norris shares his deepest desire in 2021.

Lando Norris openly admits that Carlos Sainz is his best friend in Formula 1, but at the same time, he has also remarked that he feels happiest when he defeats the Spaniard.

The duo was a prolific pair in McLaren until Sainz decided to leave for Ferrari, and now they are pitted against each other as both teams’ objectives for 2021 are the same.

“He knows how I drive and he knows how we think as a team,” Norris told Motorsport.com“Of course, we try to change things up a bit so that he doesn’t know everything. But that’s just one of the pros and cons of someone changing teams and stuff.”

Even in the upcoming race, the gap between the two teams is still marginal, allowing an intense battle between the two teams at Silverstone.

Applying more concentration

Norris has substantially progressed this year and has been spearheading McLaren’s campaign this year. He sits fourth in the drivers’ standings currently with 101 points.

“I think I’m probably concentrating more than I have – spending more time on the important things, the things I really need to focus on,” Norris said. “That’s my racing and putting in a performance like I did this year.

“Part of that is focusing on the things you really need to focus on in order to do them better. The key to that is spending more time with my engineers and less time chatting and having fun.”

Apart from Ferrari, Norris is also observed battling Sergio Perez, who is right above him in the championship standings. In Monaco, Norris was also able to hold his lead to win the third podium of his career and second of this season.
