WATCH: George Russell living his dreams as he steps inside the Mercedes W11 replacing Lewis Hamilton

WATCH: George Russell has finally made the ultimate move by doing a seat check with the Mercedes W11 replacing Lewis Hamilton.

This is what dreams are made of. From suggestions he might not be in F1 anymore, to landing a seat in the fastest race car in the world, George Russell has come a long, long way. He is one of the most talented drivers on the grid and a potential F1 champion.

The Mercedes F1 Twitter handle has shared a video of the Brit getting inside the W11, and it is a wonderful sight. He looks pretty nervy and excited, and why shouldn’t he be. Take a look at the moment below:

Dream come true for George Russell

The young Brit, popularly known as Mr. Saturday for his exploits in qualifying is ready to take his game a step further and potentially win a race. That would be a shock result, considering Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen are the overwhelming favorites in absence of Lewis Hamilton. Speaking about the opportunity given, Russell sounded excited, and “cannot wait to get on track” this weekend.

“Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to everybody at Williams for giving me this opportunity. I might be wearing a different race suit this weekend, but I’m a Williams driver and I’ll be cheering my team on every step of the way.”

“I see this as a great chance to learn from the best outfit on the grid right now and to come back as an improved driver, with even more energy and experience to help push Williams further up the grid. A big thank you also to Mercedes for putting their faith in me.”

“Obviously, nobody can replace Lewis, but I’ll give my all for the team in his absence from the moment I step in the car. Most importantly, I wish him a speedy recovery. I’m really looking forward to the opportunity and can’t wait to get out on track this week.”
