"We have a zero-tolerance approach to racist behaviour"– Christian Horner condemns online racial abuse on Lewis Hamilton

“We have a zero-tolerance approach to racist behaviour”– Christian Horner declares zero tolerance towards racism after the attack on Lewis Hamilton.

Lewis Hamilton on Sunday was charged to be responsible by the FIA for Max Verstappen’s exit from the British Grand Prix. The collision between the two initiated a massive outrage by Verstappen fans.

And on Monday morning, it was observed that Hamilton became a victim of online racial abuse, which F1, FIA and Mercedes immediately condemned.

Even Red Bull has condemned the horrible comments made on Hamilton, as Christian Horner claims there is no room for racism in his team while reacting to Hamilton’s predicament.

“Whilst the rivalry is intense on track for the championship, highly charged emotions should never cross the line into racist abuse,” said Horner in a statement published by Red Bull.

“We have a zero-tolerance approach to racist behaviour within our team, and I personally feel strongly that those responsible for this sort of abuse should be held to account.

“We will continue to support the FIA and F1 in order to eradicate this from our sport.”

More support to Lewis Hamilton

Though Hamilton is yet to react to this incident, other teams have already stepped in to show solidarity with Hamilton against the racial abuse.

His former team McLaren was among the first to stand against online abuse and vowed to ally with FIA, F1 and Mercedes in this incident.
