What Happened to Lewis Hamilton? - Mercedes Star Records Horrible Elimination in Miami GP Q2

Lewis Hamilton could not set a lap good enough to make it through the Q2 session of the qualifying at the Miami Grand Prix. The 7-time world champion could only manage a P13 position and was left disappointed after leaving the garage too late.

This result is Hamilton’s worst-ever qualifying result on US soil. After crossing the chequered flag at P13, Hamilton said, “Left that way too late guys.”

Earlier in the Q1 session, Hamilton had hit the wall at Turn 17. He was trying to avoid crashing into Haas’ Kevin Magnussen. The Mercedes star had then headed to the garage to check up on the situation of his car before hitting the track again. During the finishing stages of the Q1, Hamilton and his teammate George Russell both managed to escape elimination in Q1.

Replays of his final run to the chequered flag in Q2 even showed Hamilton’s car sliding all over the place in the early corners of the lap.

Fans are disappointed as Lewis Hamilton gets eliminated

After Hamilton could not get past the Q2 session at the Miami GP track, fans were left disappointed. Some of the fans were frustrated at Mercedes for releasing the car too late.
