Pierre Gasly is certainly having a bad day at the office. After interrupting Carlos Sainz’s flying lap, the Frenchman was spotted coming between Max Verstappen’s run. And the current world champion didn’t stop cursing him even though they were teammates once.
“What the f**k? He just doesn’t move,” said an irked Verstappen to his race engineer on the team radio. However, Verstappen‘s race engineer came to Gasly’s rescue and reasoned with Red Bull’s star driver.
“I don’t think he realized you were on a push lap,” reverted Verstappen’s race engineer. However, that was a big impede by Gasly, and the stewards must be looking into it.
Fernando Alonso back Max Verstappen’s complaint
While Verstappen didn’t get enough support from his team, Fernando Alonso emerged as a big ally. After the Q1, the F1 broadcast showed the Spaniard’s comments.
Alonso remarked that Alpine made a huge impede on Verstappen. According to him, it’s worthy of a three-place penalty. Though, it’s hard to tell whether Alonso said it out of spite for Alpine or was unbiased for his newfound F1 friend.

Nevertheless, Verstappen remained unaffected by the interruption made by Gasly. Even in Q2, he was the most dominant force.
