Who are Dorilton Capital, which has bought the Williams Racing F1 team, as Claire Williams confirms the deal?

Williams had been looking for a buyer for some time now, and they have finally found it. The American company Dorilton Capital will lead Williams into the new Concorde Agreement era. Williams will continue to have its base in Glove, United Kingdom, the team has confirmed.

The sale of Williams was on the cards because of disappointing results in the last few seasons. The team is currently bottom in the Constructors Standings, same as the last two seasons.

There is hope that under the leadership of Dorilton Capital, there will be a turnaround in performances. This is what Williams had to say about their new owners in a press release:

Who are Dorilton Capital – an investment firm focused on long-term acquisitions

“Dorilton Capital is known for its long-term approach to investment and its key focus will be to restore the competitiveness of the team.  This marks the beginning of an exciting new era in the history of Williams, which with its new owner, is now well-positioned to capitalise upon the sweeping rule changes coming into Formula One with the new Concorde Agreement.”

According to the official website, Dorilton Capital is a private investment firm focused on acquiring businesses across sectors. Their modus operandi is taking control of the acquisition, and continuing to work with the existing team. This explains their transaction with Williams and the fact that the Williams name and team is being kept intact.

Doulton Capital have completed over 50 business transactions since its inception, with Williams easily the most gossiped deal. According to Motorsport-Total.com, the deal is worth over 150 million euros.
