“You develop a lot of skills as well throughout your career” – Sergio Perez confident of delivering for Red Bull
“You develop a lot of skills as well throughout your career” – Sergio Perez is confident of delivering for Red Bull in his first season.
Sergio Perez is confident of over-delivering for his new team Red Bull, as they push for a stronger challenge to Mercedes. The Mexican is one of the most experienced on the current grid, which will help him soak up the pressure of racing in a big team like Red Bull.
“I think it is quite a big one, to be honest. You’re here, and when things don’t go well pressure hits you hard. When you are experienced, when you’ve been through it before it just makes you focus on the right stuff. Technically you develop a lot of skills as well throughout your career. I just think with this opportunity I’m at a great point in my career, and it’s going to work out well.”

Sergio Perez wants to max out the RB16B’s potential
Perez and Verstappen have the task of edging out the Mercedes duo of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas. For this, Perez will have to give sound competition to his teammate Verstappen as well. The latter has had three teammates since he joined Red Bull – Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, and Alex Albon. This motivates Perez even more to make the most of the RB16B and have an impressive season.
“If we’ve a car good enough to win the championship, to make sure I win it, and if we’ve a car that’s good for second, [then to] make sure I win, to over-deliver the car potential.
“I’m confident in my abilities. I just think it’s a matter of time before I get on top of everything, but I don’t see why with time, and once I’m on top of all the things I need to know with the car, I can really get to my level.”
