23-year old Fabinho has reportedly decided his future.

Various media outlets are reporting that Fabinho has agreed a deal in principle to join Atletico Madrid in January for a fee of 45 million euros.

Fabinho was an integral member of the Monaco team that lit up Europe last year. Monaco made their way into the last four of the semi finals for the first time in 17 years.

It was widely reported that Fabinho was a prime target of Manchester United during the summer. Jose was apparently quite confident of landing the midfielder, which is why this news would come as a huge shock to him.

Manchester United will now look to find a new midfielder, as they have now lost out on two of their main targets. Matic was the other target who they could not bring to Old Trafford.

Atletico Madrid are still banned in the transfer market which is why they cannot sign anyone in this summer. Similar to Barcelona a couple of years ago, Atletico can agree deals in principle before officially signing players in January.

Fabinho was impressive at the centre of midfield last year, as he scored 10 goals in addition to providing 4 assists. Exactly the type player that Manchester United is screaming for.

Now what will Jose do?

Mourinho was in the news last week, when his club managed to sensationally steal Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea’s grasp. And now it looks Atletico have done pretty much the same to them.

What goes around comes around!
