The Monaco Grand Prix is a very special race for Charles Leclerc being a Monegasque. Therefore, for the special occasion, the Monegasque is wearing a special white race suit for the race weekend. However, fans noticed an uncanny resemblance between his race suit and the one that was worn by his late friend Jules Bianchi during his time at Marrusia.
Leclerc is donning a beautiful white overall as his race suit this weekend in Monaco. The suit is lined with red accents near the shoulder and at the edges. Twitter user, Madie, noticed something different. They realized that the suit looked exactly similar to the race suit that was worn by Jules Bianchi during his time at Marrusia.
Jules Bianchi and Leclerc were close friends since childhood. They shared the common dream of driving in Formula 1, especially for Ferrari. However, Bianchi’s dream was tragically cut short when he was involved in a terrible crash at the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix. He sustained major injuries which led to his death nine months later.
Fans are reminded of Jules Bianchi by Charles Leclerc’s racing overalls
Fans had varied reactions to the discovery of the suits looking exactly similar. One Twitter user commented how it made them tear up.
However, it turns out that they weren’t the only ones who got emotional after seeing this.
Another Twitter user, Julie, commented about how much emotional damage is being done to them.
Twitter user Carmen said that looking at the picture of Leclerc, one might even mistake him for Jules Bianchi. She posted, “It’s like you saw Jules Bianchi in it for a moment”
Another user admitted that they did not know whether the resemblance made them happy or sad. They posted, “I didn’t know whether to be happy with the beauty of the outfit or upset that it reminded me (sad emoji) rest in peace Bianchi (heart emoji)”
Charles Leclerc would be desperate for a good result at Monaco
Success has always eluded Leclerc at his home race. Many fans have even called this the Monaco curse. However, Leclerc would love to break the curse and perform well at his home race.
Even though he had managed to get the pole at Monaco during the last two editions, race day was disastrous for him. In 2021, he could not even start the race due to the damage that he sustained during Qualifying. As for 2022, a poor strategy decision by Ferrari cost him his race.
