"For what?" - Watch Kimi Raikkonen's angry outburst on Alfa Romeo team radio after time penalty at Tuscany Grand Prix

“For what?” – Kimi Raikkonen reacted angrily at his Alfa Romeo race engineer after receiving a 5 sec penalty at Mugello’s Tuscan Grand Prix.

The legendary ‘Ice Man’ Kimi Raikkonen has been forever known in his F1 journey for his frequent outbursts. The no-nonsense Finn let loose yet again today at Mugello, after his race engineer informed him of a 5-second penalty.

The penalty was handed out by Race Control to Kimi Raikkonen for entering the pit lane while entry was on ‘red lights’. It was a touch-and-go moment, and one that could have easily been avoided. The other perspective is that the penalty was a bit too harsh to be given, something that Kimi’s angry reaction portrayed perfectly.

Kimi and Race Engineer Radio Conversation

After the penalty was announced, his race engineer got on to inform Kimi on the team radio. After initially telling Kimi about it, the driver asked for the reason for it. Not getting the answer immediately, he let out a terrifying “FOR WHAT”. This is how the entire conversation went, which has went trending shockwaves around the F1 world:

Engineer: “We have a five second time penalty that we will serve after the race”

Kimi: “For what?”

Engineer: “We have a five second time penalty th-”

Kimi: “FOR WHAT!?”

Kimi Raikkonen has performed admirably in the last round of races, and is extremely unfortunately to still be without points this season. His performances have certainly impressed his Alfa Romeo boss Frederic Vasseur though, who seems willing to offer another season to the veteran. If this happens, expect a lengthier highlights reel of expletives from the former Ferrari Champion.
