Losing Juventus rights in FIFA 20, EA's value drops by £660 million

Electronic Arts’ value significantly dropped by a whopping £660 million hours after Juventus struck a deal with Konami.

The Italian Champions’ name and crest will appear in Pro Evolution Soccer 2020, but not FIFA 2020. The Italian side confirmed about their lucrative deal with Konami, who are the owners of the PES.

In hours after signing a deal with Konami, the value of Electronic Arts (EA) have dropped significantly.

The reliable CNBC confirmed that the value of the EA slid 3.28% hours and it has cost the company £660 million.

The shares of the EA were at £74.46 on Tuesday at 9.30am UK time, before eventually dropping to £71.42 within two hours. On Monday, the gaming home was estimated at £22.76billion, while the value of the company dipped to £22.1billion the very next day.

FIFA is one of the most played games throughout the world and the inability to tie Juventus to a new contract has a huge effect and sees the name change from Juventus to ‘Piemonte Calcio’.

CNBC says that the publisher’s securities filing in May found that the three most recent installments in the franchise made up 14 percent of its total net revenue.

Konami’s partnership with Juventus will last for three years, with the bodies of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala getting scanned into PES 2020.

EA also confirmed that Juventus players faces and numbers will not be altered for the FIFA 20.

As anticipated, Allianz Arena will not feature in this version of FIFA and EA will initiate a custom badge and kits to use in kick-off mode, career mode, and Volta Football. Additionally, Juventus star Miralem Pjanic has been appointed as the ambassador for PES 2020.

Juventus’ deal with PES marks the 25-year wait that EA won’t be able to have full access to their license in FIFA sales. EA might have lost the license to Juventus, but they signed with the reigning Champions League winners Liverpool to produce content for FIFA 2020.

FIFA 20 will be launched on 27th September. It will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
