For a team that boasted the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and the great AB de Villers, it is safe to say that Royal Challengers Bangalore have massively under performed over the last ten editions of the IPL.
During the last decade, RCB possessed some of the very best players in the game including the likes of Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Mitchell Starc and Shane Watson in addition to the holy trinity of Kohli, Gayle and ABD.
But for one reason or the other, this incredibly popular franchise has failed to win the competition, as they have suffered some heartbreaking losses in the latter stages of the tournament.
Here we look at five international stars that RCB need to target in the IPL auction!
Ben Stokes
RCB have always been a team that boasted of world class superstars in their side. Flamboyance has always been a part of the Bengaluru outfit, which is why Ben Stokes would ideally suit the RCB team.
Kohli, ABD and Stokes would certainly be the most powerful trio in the IPL, as RCB could build their next few seasons around these three.

Stokes will definitely be among the most expensive players, which is why RCB might find it tough to get him. But there is no doubt that he would be worth very penny.
Dwayne Bravo
After having retained the likes of Dhoni, Raina and Jadeja, CSK will certainly be looking to use their RTM on Dwayne Bravo in the auction.
But if CSK pass up on the chance to get the West Indian, you can be sure that there will be other teams who not shy to pay big bucks for Bravo.
Bravo has been one of the best T20 all-rounders in the game over the last decade, as the West Indian’s power hitting with the bat, and wickets with ball make him an extremely attractive player to have.
Brendon McCullum
The man who lit up the IPL in it’s very first match, Brendon McCullum will be looking to bag one last big contract in the IPL.
Baz can still conjure up a few sparkling knocks from time to time, as the Kiwi can be a very useful player in the squad.
If RCB do not go in for Gayle, then McCullum could be a valuable asset to have in their side. Better keep an eye on this one!
Andrew Tye
The Aussie will be one to look out for in this year’s IPL auction, as Tye’s stature has quickly risen over the last year.
After a bright start to life in the IPl Tye starred for the Gujarat Lions last year as he picked up 12 wickets at an economy of 6.71.
With quality pace bowlers coming at a premium in the world today, Andrew Tye will certainly be someone to watch out for in the upcoming IPL auction.
Chris Lynn
Chirs Lynn’s performances over the past couple of years will ensure a huge price tag for the Aussie in the IPL auction.
While KKR will certainly try to get the hard hitting opener, you can bet that other teams will also be interested in bringing the Aussie into their franchise.
Lynn should be perfect for RCB, as the Aussie’s hard hitting style would definitely light up the Chinaswammy Stadium.
Lynn, Kohli and ABD will surely be a fearsome trio at the top for RCB!
Chris Gayle
There is one more man that we need to mention in this list, and that is the great Chris Gayle. The West Indian is an IPL and RCB legend, as the ‘Gayle-storm’ hit the Chinaswammy on several occasions over the past decade.
But Gayle’s declining performances over the last few years did not go unnoticed by the RCB management, as they realized that the great man was coming to the end of his magnificent career.
RCB may still make the emotional decision to bring back Gayle, as the idea of the West Indian playing out his last days at Bengaluru is certainly something that the fans can get behind.
