Former Liverpool defender gives away 3 penalties before receiving his marching orders last night. Very few have had worse days than the poor centre back.

Many of us have had bad days in the office. Days we just want to forget and put behind because of how horrible it was. However, not many can relate to Sebastian Coates who’s had an unforgettable night yesterday; and not in the good way.

Sporting CP have had a great campaign so far this season. Before last night, the Portuguese outfit had registered 2 wins out of 3 matches. Their two wins had come after a draw in their season opener. However, their unbeaten run came to an end in their 4th match itself courtesy Sebastian Coates.

Sporting played Rio Ave last night and were looking good to take the win. Coates fouled Mehdi Taremi inside the box in the 6th minute handing them their first goal. The green and white stripes equalised in the 20th minute through Bruno Fernades. They then took the lead after half-time and looked on course to hold on to their unbeaten streak. However, there was still a twist in the turn left.

Coates fouled Taremi inside the box again in the 86th minute and fouled him once again for good measure in extra time to receive a red card and hand Rio Ave another penalty. Filipe Augusto Carvalho Souza scored his second goal of the night to win the game for his team and with that an absolutely horror night for Sebastian Coates was done for.
