F1 23 release date set for June 16: Champions Edition bonuses listed

After announcing the F1 23 reveal date on May 1, EA Sports has delivered. The one-minute 42-second trailer features gameplay from the returning Braking Point story mode, alongside real-life interviews with Charles Leclerc and reigning World Champion, Max Verstappen. The trailer mentions the release date of the game is June 16, 2023, and pre-orders are open now. A subsequent blog post by EA has revealed even more details.

F1 23 promises better handling models powered by real Formula 1 data

Here’s a summary of what’s promised in the new entry:

  • Braking Point 2: After F1 2021 introduced Devon Butler and Aiden Jackson as part of a new story mode campaign, fans noticed that a follow-up was missing in F1 22. However, this year, Braking Point returns with a brand new fictional F1 team and storyline.
  • Better handling models for controllers and wheels: EA Sports states that they’ve incorporated real F1 team feedback and data to create a more realistic and consistent handling model.
  • A new 35% race distance option
  • Red Flags return
  • New Las Vegas Street Circuit and Qatar GP added
  • F1 World: The new hub promises to “tie together multiple game modes such as Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Multiplayer.” Seasonal content will feature here with daily and weekly challenges.
