Arsenal’s misery continued as the club looked clueless and couldn’t force the issue. Unai Emery then decided to substitute his captain Granit Xhaka in the 61st minute for Bukayo Sako. The change was greeted with thunderous applause at the Emirates.

As Xhaka walked to the touchline, the cheers turned into boos. It became evident that the supporters did not believe that the Swiss Midfielder was the right man to lead the side. The Arsenal faithful have given Xhaka a lot o stick in the last few seasons. However, tonight may have been the final straw as he reacted in a very uncharacteristic fashion of a man tasked with being the captain of the club.
