Hamilton slams Ferrari for using ‘tactics’ in Raikkonen clash
Lewis Hamilton hasn’t held back with his criticism of the lap 1 incident between Raikkonen and himself, where Raikkonen slightly locked up and crashed with Hamilton, to put Hamilton off the track and to the back of the grid.
Consequently, Raikkonen was slapped with a 10 second penalty, but the damage to Hamilton was already done, as he had a humongous task in front of him, that of climbing up the grid as soon as possible, so as to bring down the gap between Vettel and himself(keeping in mind that world championship).
Two safety cars towards the end of the grand prix and Hamilton was able to get to P2 and ended the grand prix just one spot behind the present World championship leader.
After the grand prix, Hamilton wasn’t available for the on track interview and did not utter a word to Raikkonen in the cool-down room.
In the interview was undertaken at the podium, Hamilton suggested that the Raikkonen crash was actually a ‘tactic’ that was used by Ferrari in order to help Vettel get a bigger lead in the world championship for Vettel.
“Interesting tactics I’d say from their side,” says Hamilton when asked about his opening lap clash with Raikkonen
