Harbhajan Singh talks about MS Dhoni’s brilliance as a captain
Harbhajan Singh has been on the sidelines with respect to International cricket, but in terms of franchise cricket, he is still a very potent force.
Having played for the Mumbai Indians for 10 years, Harbhajan will be donning the yellow kit this time round, and will be reunited with MS Dhoni, under whose captaincy Bhajji won the inaugural T20 World Cup.
Talking about MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Bhajji was quick to point out Dhoni’s cricketing acumen and how he plans stuff during an innings, something that is of prime importance in the shortest format.
“He (Dhoni) understands the game really well, is street-smart and thinks ahead of the game and I feel that’s very important for a captain, especially in T20. That’s what makes him a great skipper,” said Harbhajan.
Bhajji is looking forward to playing under MS Dhoni once again.
“It’s always a great feeling to play along with MS Dhoni. I’m looking forward to working with him again towards a common goal – this time to win the trophy for the Chennai Super Kings.” Harbhajan added.
Talking about the legacy of both Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, Harbhajan is more than excited to play for another successful franchise, after having won 3 IPL title with MI.
“Look forward to exciting times with CSK. It’s great to be a part of two strong teams. 10 years with Mumbai Indians was absolutely brilliant, and now to be a part of another brilliant team. Here I come, Chennai! Let’s do it together for Yellow,” he said.
“CSK versus Mumbai Indians – two top teams – was always a pressure game. No matter how bad the situation, both would continue to fight till the end and create chances. That’s how champion teams play, with a lot of passion and pride,” he concluded.
