India vs Australia 1st ODI

The Indian team has been playing some decisive cricket over the last few months, with only the Champions Trophy Final loss putting a blot on their otherwise perfect record. Virat Kohli has induced his killer instinct in each and every individual of the team and the conviction with which these boys play is charming and refreshing to see.

But current form goes out of the window when the ‘Fantastic Foes’ lock horns. Emotions run high, sledging makes an appearance and players are required to up their game a notch.

Chennai is playing host for the first ODI and while the cricketing fraternity is rejoicing, the weather gods don’t seem to care that much.

According to the weather report for Sunday, there is a 90% chance of rain, almost throughout the day.

The series promises to be a brilliant one with both teams vying for the top spot in the ODI setup. A series win by a margin of 3-2 for either team would take them to the helm of the rankings in the ODI format.

Currently both teams are locked in at 117 points, and a 3-2 win for either would take them to 118 points and the other team would drop to 116.

On current form, it looks like India should be able to bag the series, with a lot of experts predicting a 4-1 series win, but when it is Australia, you can’t really count them out.

The 2013 series was a closely contested one, with India edging Australia 4-3.

Hopefully the rain stays away and we can get a full game in on Sunday.
